Microsoft’s Windows 365 Cloud PC is no doubt a game changer in the world of computers. This cloud service, which grants access to virtual PCs from almost any device, anywhere, accommodates the hybrid work model that the world has widely adopted.

Mainly aimed at businesses, there are two Windows 365 Cloud PC plans to choose from: Business and Enterprise. One of the main differences between them is in the number of users allowed. Business allows up to 300 users, while Enterprise allows for an unlimited number of users.

Business is better suited for smaller organizations that want “a simple way to buy, deploy, and manage Cloud PCs.” Cloud PCs are automatically provisioned by Microsoft, which simplifies the process but restricts configurability. Importantly, there are no licensing pre-requirements for Windows 365 Business.

Enterprise is for organizations that require more robust deployment and management options. The provisioning of Cloud PCs is configurable and customizable by the organization, which means less automation but more control over the process. Additionally, Enterprise integrates with other Microsoft services (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Endpoint). Subscription to the plan requires each user to be licensed for Windows 10 or 11 Enterprise, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Azure Active Directory P1.

Both plans offer three pricing options: basic, standard, and premium. These options are readily purchasable by customers and come with preset features. However, Microsoft allows its customers to configure their Cloud PC features, should they prefer to do so. Prices will then vary depending on the combination of virtual processor, RAM, and storage. Find all pricing options here.

The pricing of both Business and Enterprise is conveniently per user per month. You also have the option of a trial period before committing to any purchase. If opting for Windows 365 Business, you can benefit from a discount of up to 16% on devices with valid Windows 10 or 11 pro licenses (see, Windows Hybrid Benefit). Still confused about which plan to go for? Microsoft can help you choose.
